After finishing a two month tour with the Barter Theatre that traveled 17,000 miles, and performed for 25000 people, David is glad to be doing The Seafarer in one place. It is a great pleasure to return to Burning Coal Theatre where David has been performing since Burning Coal’s inaugural season. David has an MFA from Louisiana State University and has performed on Broadway with George C. Scott in Inherit the Wind with Tony Randall’s National Actors’ Theatre. Television credits include Law & Order. Homicide: Life on the Streets. Off Broadway credits include, As You Like It, Titus Andronicus, Measure for Measure, and Henry V with Julie Taymor, Mark Rylance and others. It is a pleasure to be here and delight courses through my soul to be doing this play with such a fine group of people.

is glad to be back in North Carolina where he spent the 70's studying at UNC-Wilmington and directing the nation's oldest community theater, the Thalian Association. He had spent the 60's in New York acting under the direction of, among others, George C. Scott and Joseph Papp. Since 1980 he has made himself useful in theaters throughout Florida, winning his area's Carbonell Award twice and twice being designated "Best Actor" by New Times. He has also appeared on various TV shows from "Miami Vice" onwards; his latest commercial was for RBS with Jack Nicklaus.

Holden is an Associate Professor of Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he has directed numerous productions and taught theatre since 1997. He is a proud member of the Burning Coal Theatre Company and is thrilled to be back after a two year hiatus.

Stephen is a member of the 2009-2010 Burning Coal Theatre Company.

is an Obie Award winning theatre artist (director, designer, dramaturge, performer, teacher) from New York City. There, he has worked with companies and artists like Arden Party, The Drama Dept., Douglas Dunn, Elevator Repair Service, Richard Foreman, The Foundry Theater, La Mama ETC, Meredith Monk, The Public Theater, The Talking Band, Target-Margin, and the Wooster Group. Regionally he has worked at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Burning Coal Theatre, The Cleveland Public Theatre, The Hanger Theater, The Kennedy Center, Not-Man-Apart Theatre, On the Boards, The Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Pig Iron, The Pittsburg Public Theatre, and Shakespeare Santa Monica. He has taught, and directed students at institutions like NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, NYU Graduate Acting Program, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Baton Rouge Community College, The New School, The Hanger Theatre, The University of Kentucky, The University of Tennessee, The Governor’s School of North Carolina, Shakespeare Santa Monica, and Swarthmore College.
